Last Hours of the Darkest Dungeon Kickstarter

Every time I talk to my brother he raves about his favorite kickstarter, Darkest Dungeon. In the mid to late 90s we dungeon crawled with D&D games on old school floppy disks. Those computer games were pretty advanced for their time, and Darkest Dungeon promises to resurrect the genre once again.

This roguelike RPG adds an entirely new dimension of adventuring by installing a system that factors the humanity of your crusaders. All gamers have played god-like, super protagonists that are destined to defeat all odds. Frankly, those stories have become old and tired. Darkest Dungeon’s radical twist is to account for the psychological stresses of adventuring. This profound way to stir a genre seems like an obvious choice, but often it’s the obvious that lays in ambush, much like the unruly parties of undead you’ll experience in the depths of darkness.

Darkest Dungeon promises to be a profound game. It’ll be distributed initially via Steam, but time to get in on the ground floor is vanishing. A kickstarter pledge of $15 will buy you a digital copy on Steam when the game is released. Any pledge greater than that will buy you extra gravy with a side of swag. As of this post’s publication only 28 hours remain for the Kickstarter campaign. If you’re a fan of dungeon crawlers or roguelikes then you do not want to miss out on this opportunity.

This is not a paid advertisement. I have no connections with Red Hook Studios or any of its employees. I only fear the wrath of my brother.

This one’s for you bro.
